After recently meeting with one of the country’s leading vocational and academic schools, we fell in love with what they represent, their culture, the people and so much more; and are now excited to be supporting them in finding a Part-Time Music Teacher. 

This prestigious school which has been the launchpad for many famous singers and actors/actresses is based in Tring surrounded by wonderful countryside. 

Working with 360 boarding and day pupils, aged 7 to 19, you will join a dedicated and supportive staff team within a School that offers the advantage of small classes, talented and committed students, with strong public examination results.

We’re looking for someone that is able to teach music from KS2 up to A Level and can coordinate the A Level Music Tech provision.  - Meaning to be considered, teaching GCSE  and/or A Level Music and/or Music Tech is a must have. 

As mentioned too, this is a part time position and it is a permanent role. 

Ideally we are looking for someone that can work 5 days a week and commit to 5 mornings a week, this would be working 8.30am to 12.55pm. However, we could also consider someone that could job share and work for 3 morning a week. 

As such, the full time salary is £41,606.40, so working this role on a part time basis, based on the 5 mornings a week, would make a pro-rata salary of £20,803.20 pa. What to expect day to day?

• Deliver the music curriculum from KS2 up to A’ Level
• Oversee the coordination of A’ Level Music Technology (EDEXCEL)
• Use teaching methods which keep students engaged, including stimulating pupils’ intellectual curiosity, effective questioning and response, clear representation and good use of resources
• To mark pupil’s work and give appropriate and constructive feedback
• Maintain a ‘teacher planner’ and planning documents, including the recording of attainment and effort marks, Prep/homework set, student attendance.
• Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils you teach.
• Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons
• To research new topic areas, maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
• Have working knowledge of Ableton/Logic Pro/Sibelius
• Have excellent and effective classroom management skills and maintain standards of discipline according to the school’s codes of conduct and in line with the school’s rewards and sanctions programmes.
• Be a dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence and leads by example
• Contribute significantly to the programme of concerts, performances, and the provision of music for high-profile events
