We are recruiting a permanent HR Manager for a highly successful and expanding company based on the outskirts of Bedford.  This is a new role within the company where the HR Manager will take ownership of all elements of the company’s HR and the business is open to considering candidates on both a full-time or part-time basis (9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday or similar).

We are seeking candidates with strong, all-round HR knowledge who is comfortable taking on the administrative elements of the role, along with taking responsibility for shaping the HR function of the business.  Ideally candidates will have worked at HR Manager level for an SME.

Overview of duties:

• Dealing with all HR for a company of circa 80-90 staff
• Generating offer letters and contracts
• Taking ownership of and implementing HR policies for the company
• Managing facilities
• General day to day management of the office
• Adapting and updating employee handbook and company intranet
• Providing advice on maternity and paternity leave
• Handling all queries around holiday, sickness, absence
• Dealing with any employee relations orientated issues
• Providing guidance on ER processes and ensuring adherence to UK employment law
• Responsible for company benefits
• Working closely with payroll around benefits and associated deductions
• Ensuring staff training and development receive time and attention
• Providing guidance on reviews and salary increases
• Overseeing recruitment processed and undertaking interviews
• All associated HR Administration duties
• Working closely with FD to sign off and implement changes

Candidate requirements:

• Strong all round HR knowledge and experience
• Ideally some experience of working to HR Manager level within an SME
• Good knowledge of UK employment law
• Approachable and personable but able to maintain confidentiality
• CIPD qualification desirable
