We are working with the UK subsidiary of an international business to recruit a permanent HR Administrator to join a close-knit and friendly HR team based in Hemel Hempstead. Our client is open to candidates looking to start their HR career or somebody with some previous HR Administration experience. They are also willing to consider an applicant looking for reduced hours or days if they are super organised and able to complete their workload efficiently!

Role overview:

• Liaise with successful candidates to obtain personal information by sending out new starter forms upon verbal acceptance.
• Work closely with managers regarding the onboarding of new starters and confirm dates for new starter reviews.
• Obtain satisfactory referencing, background checks and right to work documentation.
• Collate agreed terms and conditions for contracts and send contracts of employment to successful candidates.
• Liaise with managers and the IT department to determine new starters IT requirements.
• Collate relevant information and documentation for employee files to ensure compliance.
• Email welcome packs to new starters prior to their start date.
• Maintain personnel files for current and ex-employees
• Update global directory
• Raise Purchase orders for office stationery, flowers and other HR requirements
• Support the team with answering the telephone and general scanning and filing
• Discard sensitive documentation in line with GDPR
• Respond to ex-employee reference requests.
• Input data into the company’s HRIS system.
• Apply for DBS renewals for applicable employees.

Candidate requirements:

• Previous administrative experience essential
• Experience within a HR department not essential, but desirable
• Fantastic attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills
• Strong communication skills
