We are recruiting for an award-winning logistics company based near the Maylands Industrial Estate in Hemel Hempstead, looking to recruit a Customs Administrator on a temporary basis for the next 3 to 6 months.

This is a fantastic opportunity either for someone with extensive Administration experience (full training on the Customs side of the role provided) or anyone with Import/Export experience as well would be a huge bonus too. This role is very heavily focussed on administration, so someone organised and able to multitask projects and absorb information is a must.

This role is on a temporary basis, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, the position is hybrid working, Tues-Thurs in the offices with Mon & Fri working from home.

Free parking is on site, due to location you MUST own a vehicle and be able to drive to work.

This is weekly pay as it’s temporary work, paying a rate of between £12 to £14, very much dependant on your experience and knowledge in relation to the role, plus holiday accrual and also free lunches when in the offices.

Typical responsibilities:

• Preparation and processing of import and export declarations.
• Calculating and processing duties as and when required with classification method.
• Monitor the Customs email inbox, resolve queries or escalate to the Customs Manager as appropriate.
• Support the Customs Manager with preparations as and when required.
• Support the Customs Manager with information required for audits.
• Participate and contribute to projects.

Candidate Skills

• Previous admin experience is essential, although any experience within Customs/Import/Export is a bonus.
• Quick learner to understand new systems and processes.
• Good communication skills and manners as you will be working with multiple internal teams and external agencies/companies.
• MS Office knowledge (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, O365 etc.)
