Stock Controller – 6 Month Contract - Luton

Think Specialist Recruitment are working with a well-established long standing client to recruit a Stock Controller on a 6 month fixed term contract. You’ll make sure inventory records are accurate across the company’s ERP and warehouse management systems, working closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Services, IT and third-party logistics providers.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem. You’ll reconcile stock, investigate discrepancies, find the root cause and put things right, while keeping Customer Services informed so orders keep moving.

This position is based in our clients Luton office and hybrid working is normally offerred after the first months training. Our client is offering a salary upto £37k. Please note this position will be on an initial six month contract

The role

• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly stock reconciliations between the ERP and warehouse management systems
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identify root causes and put corrective actions in place
• Reconcile inventory across multiple warehouse locations and support stocktakes and cycle counts
• Manage Supplier Return Transfer Notes and investigate discrepancies from auto-receipted transactions
• Prepare inventory reports and support Finance with month-end stock reconciliations
• Be the main contact for stock availability queries
• Communicate stock shortages, batch issues and supply risks early to Customer Services and other stakeholders
• Help resolve order fulfilment and inventory-related customer issues
• Identify ways to improve inventory accuracy, controls and efficiency
• Monitor inventory accuracy and performance across third-party logistics providers
• Keep accurate batch records
• Manage stock write-offs, damaged goods and inventory adjustments in line with company policy
• Coordinate stock holds, releases and transfers between warehouse locations

About you

• Experience in inventory control and stock reconciliation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliations
• Experience using ERP and warehouse management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work across several departments
