Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working with a growing organisation based within the St Albans area. This leading organisation are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to join their expanding team. This position will suit someone with a wealth of experience within Logistics, working at an International level. This is a newly created role so previous experience at this level is a must.
Salary - £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
This will be office based - must be local to St Albans
Some of the duties will include:
- Oversee and manage transport organisation & handling of all local and international transports for export, import, domestic and cross-trade with all types of transport
- Develop reports showing freight data, transportation costs with focus on reducing transportation costs
- Manage & report on freight forecasts
- Support in the control cost and service in line with defined operating plan and work with logistics providers to deliver continuous improvements
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouses and transportation
- Liaise and negotiate with transport companies
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
- Provide in-house guidance on product classification, HS tariff codes and custom requirements for efficient shipments
The suitable candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong skills in presenting and summarising data
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Fluent English is mandatory, other foreign languages are a plus
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Experience of international freight & customs cost structures
- Experience of European road freight operations
- Knowledge of international transport and trade, customs and HMRC processes is desirable
