New and Exclusive Part Time SME Bookkeeper position based in the heart of St Albans!

Think Accountancy and Finance have exclusively partnered with an SME business in St Albans (with parking!) who are looking to take on a Part Time Bookkeeper.

This role will join a team of around 25 people to support their Accounts Manager in managing the accounts up to Trial Balance.

The position is for someone seeking 30 hours a week which can be spread across 4 or 5 days.

Duties include:

• Checking and approving invoice payment requests and amending as required
• Processing invoices
• Checking HMRC requirements
• Entering overhead invoices directly to Xero
• Processing payments through Xero/Bank
• Allocating receipts through Bank from clients
• Payroll
• Managing pensions
• Monthly journals
• Uploading payments and bank and credit card reconciliation monthly
• Maintaining nominal/supplier ledgers and control accounts using Xero
• VAT return monthly
• Monthly Management accounts
• Various monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested by Commercial Manager and Director
• General office duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience of working in an SME office environment
• Working knowledge of Xero
• Working knowledge of payroll and pensions
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Good Organisational and communicative skills
• Bookkeeping experience up to Trial Balance
