Think Accountancy and Finance are working with a business in Edgware in the recruitment for an Accounts Payable/Finance Officer for a contract role. Our client are looking for someone to start ASAP and the contract will run until the end of August 2023.
The role is paying £28,000 - £32,000 and is full time.
The main overview of the position is to support the finance department in providing an effective purchasing and procurement function. You will be supported by a Qualified management accountant.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all invoice processing in line with all internal financial policies and controls
- Ensure smooth and efficient running of purchase orders / requisitions process
- Process staff expenses
- Completing the weekly BACS payment for submission and approval.
- Processing and allocating direct debits transactions within the ledger.
- Maintaining and reviewing Aged Creditor balances including allocation of payments,
investigation of outstanding items
- Investigating and resolving any queries from suppliers and internal departments.
- Ensuring new supplier forms are filled out correctly and authorised
- Posting any ad hoc income to the nominal ledger
- Support the implementation of the new procurement system
- Complete all monthly reconciliations and associated balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide financial analysis as required on supplier activity and expense analysis
- Provide ad hoc support on future AP process enhancement projects
For this role our client is looking for someone who:
- Is Qualified by experience or is AAT qualified with at least 3 years in a similar role
- Has experience of working with SAGE 200
- Has excellent Microsoft Excel Skills
- Has strong understanding of basic accounting concepts e.g. B/Sheet, P&L, Accruals,
Prepayments etc
- Has excellent communication skills.
- Is self-motivated, hardworking, flexible and reliable.
- Is proactive with a flexible attitude and professional approach to work
- Has experience of working with Purchase to Pay systems.
