We are working with a well-established company based in Berkhamsted to find a Buyer, a company with years of experience, a supportive team and culture and they are growing! With the recent acquisitions of new businesses that will be moving their operations to Hertfordshire too.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience in a Buyer role to take on a position with the potential for it to develop and grow into something special.

The role itself is fully office based in Berkhamsted, working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm are the core operating hours and paying a starting salary of £35,000.

Duties to include:

• Buying Products from mainly UK and China, monitoring prices and delivery dates.
• Arrange international shipping (Air and Sea) and updating reports.
• Buying items from UK and supporting on shipping if required.
• Buying specialist products and components for high profile accounts and scheduling sub-contract operations in relation to them.
• Keeping a firm eye on deliveries and operations, keeping Customer Services and Operation Manager updated of status and delays.
• Regularly updating latest pricing and trends.
• Controlling Quotes and Quoting Procedure.
• Supplier Performance Sheet.
• Management of stock levels and regular reviews.
• Reviewing stock level values.
• Supplier prices lists.

The skills required:

• 2-3 years experience in a previous Buyer role is a must.
• Ability to work alone as well as within and in conjunction with other teams.
• Experience of fully managing the critical path.
• Commercial approach to business-critical decisions.
• Confident approach to offer suggestions on the type and quantity of products to stock.
• Good interpersonal skills – able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers, communication is key at all times.
• Strong IT skills.
• Commercial and keeps up to date and aware of market trends, changes in demand.
• Strong time management skills and able to prioritize.
