We are pleased to be recruiting for a new role within the UK arm of a German owned business, with the role initially home based and supporting the growth of their UK operations.  A manufacturer of specialist construction products that is already established in the UK market, the organisation has taken the decision to set up a full UK LTD subsidiary company with the Commercial Finance Director taking control of the UK finances, along with Company Secretarial duties and general commercial/administration management responsibility.  A great opportunity for somebody keen to take on a Director role for an already established company!

We are looking to recruit a candidate with extensive all-round finance experience, along with strong commercial understanding and the ability to take responsibility for a number of key areas for the business (e.g. finance, health & safety systems management, managing UK supplier contracts, HR etc).  The ideal candidate will have worked at Financial Controller/Finance Director level within an SME, will ideally be qualified/QBE and have experience of Company Secretarial tasks.

With the role initially home based, we are in a position to consider candidates based within a reasonable distance of any airport that has frequent flights to Germany (Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester) with some travel to the German head office required, although this won’t be extensive. There is fantastic scope for the role to progress into a UK General Manager position so we are looking for an ambitious candidate who has the ability to work to their own initiative and take ownership of the UK business (working closely with existing UK team).

Along with managing the UK company’s finances on an ongoing basis, this role will also produce the UK management accounts which will be provided to Germany periodically, along with the preparation of year end accounts (and filing if appropriate).

At present the company has a small friendly team operating in the UK, which has seen significant sales growth year on year. It is anticipated that this will continue due to the demand for their products within the UK construction market.
