Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well established, fantastic company based within the Watford area. Our client have a newly created position for a Warehouse Manager to join their growing team. This opportunity will suit a candidate who has a strong background in Warehouse/Logistics Management, someone who is keen to work for a growing organisation with a friendly, family feel.
This position is a hands on role, managing a small warehouse team and being responsible for the distribution and logistics for the company.
Some of the duties will include:
- Ensure that all warehouse operations are extremely well-organised and compliant with all company policies, procedures and licenses
- Ensure that you and your team work collaboratively with all other departments
- Ensure that quality objectives and delivery/despatch deadlines are met
- Excellent management of all stock
- Stock control and reconciliation using inhouse system
- Layout of stock and work stations to provide accurate and efficient work-flow
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport/courier companies
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Recruit, select, induct, coach and motivate and review employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Maintenance and calibration of warehouse equipment
- Purchasing and management of warehouse supplies and ancillary products
The successful candidate:
- Proven successful experience of managing a busy warehouse
- Extremely well-organised, thorough with excellent attention to detail
- Exhibit high service levels and quality standards
- Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude - lead by example
- Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage, coach and develop staff, driving results through a team approach
- Dedication and discipline to put business needs first
- Excel intermediate skills – can work with basic reports and data
- Open, reflective approach to feedback
- Adherence to regulations, procedures and rules
- Initiate ideas and changes within a change-control process
