We are pleased to be working with a fantastic employer and well-known brand that are market leaders in the logistics sector, to recruit an Account Manager / Contracts Manager to manage 2 x key client relationships. This is a business that operates on a global basis, with this function being the primary point of contact between the customer, sales, operations and internal commercial functions; providing operational expertise and support of customer development and retention.
This role will be a full-time position, mainly based from their head offices in Slough, although this position will require European travel monthly.
Our client is seeking experienced individuals with previous account management experience from within the logistics sector, along with an understanding of customs processes on an international basis.
The salary for this position is £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, plus benefits such as private medical insurance (family cover), a choice of company car or car allowance up to £6,600 per annum, along with a bonus scheme and access to a company benefits portal.
Overview of role:
- Manage 2 key customer accounts with respect to their logistics requirements
- Acting as the key point of contact for all customer issues, queries and escalations
- Work closely with local service centre staff to ensure all customer logistics requirements are fulfilled
- Manage the retention, development and implementation of solutions for customer’s existing account and any new business acquired by business development team within the region.
- Utilise the most cost effective solution to achieve all the customer requirements that are within operational capability
- Work collaboratively on strategic customers requirements and provide accurate & timely KPI information either on an adhoc basis or periodically.
- Support Global and UK key and major account sales teams in customer acquisition through
(a) definition and implementation of customer solutions matching operational capabilities with customer expectations and
(b) retention activities.
- Develop customised solutions to bridge the capability gap to ensure revenue opportunities are developed.
- Lead senior Customer visits to key locations to gain trust of board level decision makers
- Prepare and present high quality, informative presentations, covering all aspects of the Customers requirements (not just operational), to board level decision makers
- Ensure all solution related costs are identified and included in rates.
- Serve as the key contact for operational costs for non standard solutions, for the UK Pricing Manager
- Serve as the primary interface between internal functions and the customer
- Be recognised as the subject matter expert in areas of responsibility across all business units
- Select, validate and manage third party solution providers for specific customer solutions.
- Ensure that operational capabilities are understood across all internal functions
- Design, develop, cost and document new customer-driven processes to support business opportunities ensuring minimal divergence from standard operations processes and where required provide operational bridge for the capability gap
- Lead and manage a virtual team of relevant experts to ensure development & implementation of robust solutions.
- Produce, own and manage all project implementation plans. Ensuring all owners achieve tasks on time and chairing relevant meetings and conference calls to make sure projects stay on target and focused.
Candidate requirements:
- Previous account management experience in the logistics industry.
