We are excited to be recruiting for an Internal Communications Executive for this company based on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead, this is a new role to further increase communications across the group. Reporting to the Head of Group Comms and Marketing, the Comms Executive will lead the creation of related content and communications, in cooperation with the Group HSQE Director and regional Safety Leadership Teams. Communications will mainly be focused on our internal audience.
The Communications Executive will interface with people across the whole company. The successful candidate will create strategic communications that further improve their safety culture, helping change the way people think and act.
The role will include visiting sites and meeting people to get under the skin of the current culture and internal audiences.
Duties:
- Create communications that deliver against the Group HSQE Strategy and Communications Plan
- Work with the Global Comms team to produce effective communications for the next Safety Focus Event
- Conceive and deliver HSQE & Compliance creative campaigns that resonate with our audiences.
- Manage the production of materials working with our in-house design, video editor or other content creators to deliver high quality work within deadlines.
- Enhance existing communications to site-based people considering appropriate channels to ensure message resonance and consider new innovations in this area.
- Partner with HSQE Directors in each of the countries to identify global themes and ways to improve communications being produced at a country level.
- Create materials for leaders to share with their teams including briefing notes and scripting suggestions.
- Draft external communications including social media posts, trade publication media releases, video and website updates.
- Ensure the HSQE pages on the company intranet are kept up to date and reflect the latest developments.
- Consider the flow and location of where HSQE and Compliance related information is stored, helping to ensure a single source.
- Maintain the ongoing HSQE Activity Planner, regularly updating with new thoughts, ideas and plans.
- Complete site inductions and onboarding and speak with others doing the same to make recommendations to further improve the effectiveness, partnering with those in the Learning and Development teams to deliver improvements.
- Partner with the Legal Team to deliver messaging throughout the year on important compliance requirements including Discrimination and harassment, conflicts of interest, GDPR, anti-bribery etc, ensuring the company maintains its high level of ethical standards.
- Regularly meet with others involved with internal communications across the Group to ensure good visibility of plans and collaboration with others.
- Help deliver quality by reviewing and drafting policies and procedures using clear and understandable language.
Candidate requirements:
- An understanding of strategic communications and change management.
- Stakeholder engagement and management.
- Strong writing and storytelling ability.
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence and credibility to articulate messages clearly, both internally and externally.
- 'Can do' attitude with strong influencing skills and the confidence and gravitas to develop strong working relationships internally and externally from the outset and to negotiate positive outcomes.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proactive, tenacious and highly organised.
- Ability to operate collaboratively and work as a team player across the organization.
- Have successfully developed and run communication campaigns.
- Tailoring messages or propositions for all levels of audience type within an organization.
- Have experience working in a multi-language, multi-cultural and international business.
- Multi-tasking.
- Track record of building strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Awareness of safety cultures and change communications.
