We are pleased to be working with a global logistics business to recruit for some customer service vacancies for their head office based on the outskirts of Slough.  Providing a fantastic service to their UK customers, the Customs Agents are responsible for dealing with all customer queries regarding duty and VAT, ensuring a highly professional service is provided.  A busy, target-driven environment, we are looking for candidates with strong customer service experience to start initially on a 6 to 12 month fixed term contract with fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent, long-term role.

Duties to include:

• Ensure that customer calls are handled in a professional and courteous manner and in alignment with Company standards
• Provide a timely and quality resolution to enquiries
• Attempt to resolve the customers’ enquiry over the phone wherever possible in order to facilitate prompt payment
• Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs regarding outstanding reclaims for Duty & VAT charges
• Ensure targets daily/weekly/monthly are achieved as agreed with Supervisor
• Assist with the allocation of workloads to ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet KPIs
• Update team & relevant departments regarding changes to Customs regulations
• Ensure monthly write-offs are kept to a minimum
• Ensure excellent working relationships are maintained with internal departments to ensure maximum cash collection & quality query resolution
• Enhance processes, improve productivity and quality through continual process improvements
• Manage & control RTO Reclaims in line with New Processes
• Complete monthly reviews of the Reclaims holding account
• Manage ad hoc request from management as and when required
• Coaching of new and existing team members as and when required

Candidate requirements:

• Previous experience within a customer service environment
• Excellent telephone manner
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a busy, targeted environment
