Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to report into the Head of Finance. They will be an integral part of the team and support the business throughout the various functions. The successful candidate will be hands on in their approach to work, they will be commercial and forward thinking. The company need this person to provide insightful ​financial reports and commentary on commercial activities; anticipate demands on cashflow and have a firm control of customer and supplier payment terms.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  The generation and presentation of the monthly financial reporting information, including posting
  journals and preparation of financial statements and variance analysis with detailed ​commentary;
  ● Weekly cash flow forecasting and management;
  ● Support annual budget preparation;
  ● Providing monthly budget monitoring reports by cost centre and by project code with variance analysis​;
  ● Raising applications for payment and invoicing customers in a timely manner
  ● Credit control;
  ● Ensuring billing schedules and databases are developed, up to date and fit for purpose;
  ● Supporting audit requirements;
  ● Providing accurate and timely figures to enable the bid process to work smoothly and allow
  tenders to be competitive, realistic and profitable;
  ● Supporting with corporate finance activities, including capital requirements, debt and equity;
  ● Support the effective implementation and ongoing review of internal accounting procedures including but not limited to Order to Cash and Procure to Pay;
  ● Ensuring all financial policies, process and procedure are adhered to​;
  ● Assist in conducting a thorough finance IT systems review and recommend improvements and changes;
  ● Management and develop the Finance Manager as your direct report;
  ● Contribute actively to the achievement of the company’s business objectives.
  
  
  Key Skills and Attributes we are looking for in this role are:
  ● Proven experience as a Management Accountant within an SME;
  ● Experienced in running month end and preparation of management accounts and cash flow
  forecasts;
  ● Highly numerate with the ability to deliver financial results and information such that they
  are easily understood by laymen​;
  ● Outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
  ● A sense of excitement in this individual about the opportunity to be a part of the success of
  something that is globally politically topical and ethically sound, fast paced and very dynamic;
  ● An understanding about the commitment involved in such an innovative fast-moving
  venture;
  ● High integrity and openness, with a commitment to good governance​;
  ● An obvious interest in business, commercially astute and articulate;
  ● IT literate with strong Excel reporting skills​.
  ● Formal Accounting Qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  ● Experienced in project accounting
  ● Experience in a high growth organisation is highly desirable​. ​Candidates without this who can demonstrate that they have the necessary skills, a determined mindset and a drive to succeed will be given every consideration.
