Think Accountancy and Finance are supporting an international business based in Hemel Hempstead in finding experienced Project Accountants. The primary focus of the role will be to financially manage a portfolio of projects including monthly reporting of Gross Profit, comparison to budget, variance analysis and cash flow management.
It is essential you have experience of managing projects from Day 1 through to completion!
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up of new projects, and close down of ended projects in Oracle, recognising any revenue/cost adjustments.
- Preparing quarterly and annual forecast
- Manage project cash flows with timely preparation of project sales invoices, ensuring payment is received within terms
- Monthly checking of all project cash requirements, to ensure adequate cash flow, and reconciliation of all field returns
- Analysis of monthly figures by project
- Variance Analysis
- Dealing with Associates and Sub-Contractor agreements
- Managing Purchase orders and supplier invoices
- Preparation of financial performance information for Quarterly Project Performance Reviews.
- Calculation of Project profit share
- Ad-hoc budget re-allocations
- Establish strong working relationships with clients
- Support Annual company audit.
- Develop strong working relationships with Project Managers/Directors and Field Staff
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all Project Accounting team members, and the wider Finance team.
To be suitable for this position you will have experience/skills in the following area:
- Finance experience including strong double entry bookkeeping skills.
- Exceptional time management skills - ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple stakeholder expectations, work independently within tight deadlines.
- Teamwork
- Strong analytical skills and reasoning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, and both written and verbal communication skills
- Sensitivity in dealing with confidential information
- Ability to prioritise and multi task – both individual responsibilities, and those of the team as a whole
- Self-motivated, goal oriented with a sense of urgency and the ability to support the opportunity to grow
- Proficient MS Office user.
- Either working towards or qualified in an Accountancy Qualification
- Experience of Oracle or a similar ERP system
