Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working with a fantastic orgnaisation based within the Watford area. My leading client have an exciting opportunity for a Linux Systems Engineer to join their growing team. 

The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of 5, focussing on supporting and enhancing the companies IT environment. This will be a hybrid working opportunity, so the successful candidate must be commutable to the Watford area. 

Salary - £50-60k depending on experience

Some of the duties will include:

• Having involvement and leading infrastructure projects 
• Help to define future infrastructure to ensure security, resiliency and scalability so the companies infrastructure facilitates the growth of the business
• Support the existing web environments, both production and pre-production
• Work closely with the development team to assist in the delivery of projects
• Research and recommend innovative and open minded approaches for systems engineering tasks
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build relationships with users around the business
• Communicate with third-parties to ensure the smooth operation of the companies infrastructure
• Work with members of the business at all levels to formulate technical solutions to meet business needs
• Create and update infrastructure documentation
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, resources, systems, services and key processes.
• Recovery of systems and services from hardware or software failures/errors. 
• Application of patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
• Installation of new IT equipment (servers, services, settings, storage, policies, etc.)
• Develop, maintain and adhere to installation, configuration and change management procedures and policies.

The suitable candidate:

• Previous experience within a similar role
• Experience with Linux, AWS, VMware, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Apache,NGINX
• Experience with monitoring tools is necessary
• Strong team player
• Good communication skills
• Live locally to Watford – happy to hybrid work
