Think Accountancy and Finance are supporting one of their key clients in recruiting a Part Time Qualified Accountant. This role will be directly Accountable to the FD and will be responsible for the Group’s UK Region business planning and budgeting processes, coordination of financial and statutory reporting and the provision of comprehensive commercial and financial support to all UK Senior Management in order to facilitate the decision-making process and the achievement of the Region’s strategy and financial targets.

My client Is looking for a generalist accountant who has 10 years PQE.

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury & Tax

• Responsible for preparation of the Group’s weekly short-term cashflow forecast including comparison to budget and previous forecasts and commentary on significant variances
• Ensure all Group bank accounts are regularly reconciled and any surplus cash is managed effectively and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with any facilities agreements including being responsible for reporting including covenants at all times
• In partnership with the Group’s tax advisors ensure Group compliance with all Corporation, Employment and VAT requirements and all entity CT returns are filed accurately and on time including providing analyses as required
• Provide advice and guidance on all tax matters
• Lead on the Group’s annual insurance renewal programme
• R&D Claims

Business Planning & Budgeting

• Assist with the development of the Group’s 3 year business planning and forecasting process, ensuring that all deliverables are delivered on-time, right first-time

Provision of Commercial and Financial Support

• Assist Senior Management in formulating and implementing strategy with specific focus on profit maximisation and cash flow
• Assist with financial modelling and analysis to support the development of long-term strategic initiatives and business plans

Financial and Statutory Reporting

• Accounting for Corporate entities including the Group’s finance facilities and costs
• Responsible for consolidated balance sheet reporting including all consolidation entries and intercompany processes
• Manage the Group’s policy for reconciling and settling intercompany balances and monitor its effectiveness
• Accountable for the planning and execution of the year-end, production and coordination of the timetable, Statutory Accounts for UK entities and managing the relationship with external auditors

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Qualified accountant with at least 10 years PQE

Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Experience in a multi-service organisation
• Fluent at working to a strategic level in a large multi-service organisation
• Experience of advising senior management teams on strategic and financial issues
• Previous exposure to business planning processes, systems and controls and performance management
• Experience at all forms of performance reporting at all levels
• Extensive experience of change and project management
• Extensive experience of negotiation and presentation of persuasive arguments
• Advanced qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills
• Committed to outstanding delivery with strong attention to detail
• Able to multi-task effectively
• Superior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to focus on critical matters and to exclude less productive activity
• Confident and unafraid to ask challenging questions
• Exceptional management, leadership and organisational skills

This role will allow for flexible working but you will be required in the office for regular meetings with the Finance Director. This is a Part Time role and the successful candidate will work across 3 days.
